Terry Kottman
Ph.D., NCC, RPT-S, LMHC, founded The Encouragement Zone, a centre where she provides play therapy training, counselling, coaching, and "play shops" for adults. Dr. Kottman developed Adlerian play therapy, an approach to counselling children that combines the ideas and techniques of Individual Psychology and play therapy. She is the author of several books and has two new books coming out in 2008--Counselling Theories: Practical Applications with Children and Adolescents in Schools and Active Intervention for Kids and Teens. She is also Jacob's mother and Rick's wife, the most important people in her world.
Dr. Lilian Beattie
M.B.B.S., D.H.P., Diploma in Adlerian Counselling, is a medical practitioner (retired), therapist, trainer and author. She trained in Adlerian Psychotherapy at the Adler Institute in Israel where she had the opportunity of working with Tee Dreikurs and was encouraged to develop her skills in working creatively. Her parents, Dr. N. R. Beattie and F. E. Beattie, met Alfred Adler in the thirties, were most impressed with his genius, and continued throughout their lives to promote his work. Individual Psychology, as such, was not only a birthright, but also an amazing opportunity for investigation and discovery. Lilian remains active in training and supervision in the Aylesbury area.
Vincent Byrne
Dip. Counsellor, Dip. Life and Business Coach, Life Coach Trainer with Coach Institute of Ireland. Counsellor Trainer with Adlerian Workshops and Publications. Vincent works in education on a number of 'Stay in School Initiatives' with adolescents, parents and teachers. For the past twelve years he ran groups at the Green Park Adlerian Summer School (UK) on topics such as Art + Addiction, Adlers Café, Dream Interpretation and Life Coaching. He lectures on the Drama Therapy MA Maynooth NUI. Other work includes workshops for Employee Assistance Programs and Youth Advocacy Program Services -Training Groups for business and as a Life Coach with Entrepreneurs.
John Murphy
CQSW Dip. Soc. Work. John is a parent of Andrew who has special needs. He has been involved in parenting conversations with fellow parents over the years. He has recently retired from a 36 year career in Social work and is free to pursue his interest in helping parents of children with special needs.
Ruth Farrell
Is a trained facilitator and has carried out many parenting courses in the South Tipperary area over the past number of years. She works as a theatre nurse and is the mother to four teenage children. Her background in Adlerian Psychology and NLP has helped her in these roles. Ruth sees encouragement as a mainstay of all her parenting efforts.
