Group Dynamics, Facilitation and Therapy

Booking Details

Venue: Place4u, 29 Morton Street, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary
Date: 11th & 12th of November 2023
Facilitated by: Karen John
Cost: €160

The workshop is designed to show how evolving group dynamics and lifestyle analysis can be combined successfully to promote increased self-awareness, support change in assumptions and goals, and increase a sense of belonging and social interest. The facilitation of the group over the weekend will demonstrate a respectful Adlerian approach.

Insights into group processes in the here-and-now will arise from participants’ courage to engage authentically with others in the group. Another powerful source of insight can be achieved through a participant sharing a previous or current group impasse or dilemma, then with the support of the facilitator, directing an enactment, a sculpt or a psychodrama, involving other group members.

The workshop will be of value to people who work as professionals with groups (counsellors, therapists, social workers, trainers, teachers, managers) and to those who are primarily interested in greater self-awareness.

The impetus for the Adlerian Conference idea grew out of the development of Adlerian parent study groups, which were initiated in Ireland as far back as 1980.
